Google says the max number of you can add to any one page are three text/image units, and three link units. Does this mean only three unique ad units, or can I place the same code onto a page as many times as I like within reason? Three just seems like a fairly minimal amount for a content-rich website or article.

I really dislike more than 1 content ads+1unit link.. as visitors ussually click the ads on your web according to highlight of your web... its mean... make 1 of ads 336x336 ads and put on the main themes ..

I have had adsence on my websites for about one year now and am still tweaking to try and get maximum performance out of the ads. I recently made some minor changes to some units. Originally I had 468x 60 text only units at the top of the page just above the content. In the last week I changed this unit to a 336x 280 text only unit keeping it in the same place at the top of the page just above the main content. I also have 1 120x 600 text only advert on the right underneath the main menu. Finally I have another 336x 280 at the bottom of the page directly underneath all the content. I also have a 336x 280 unit on the homepage just above the main content but this time made the background red and the heading yellow with text white. The daily clicks have gone from approximately 30, to approximately 50 and my daily earnings have increased considerably. The last three months I have earned slightly more than £100 but going by the increased clicks and earnings I expect my finalised payments to be in excess of £100. I am by no means an expert but I know you are limited to 3 text/image units, and 3 ad units per page. You can use the same code on all three units if you like, it will display different advertisements in each one. I'm not really convinced that ad units generate that many clicks, the majority of my clicks come from the text units at the top, and on the left-hand side of the page.

I will add that unless you are getting several hundred hits per day, or you have very high paying adverts on your website then don't expect to earn much money.
