I know that GoogleBot ignores the keyword meta tag but does the AdSense bot? Every book that I have read about using AdSense and every website from self-appointed SEO Experts claim that AdSense is, to some extent affected by the keyword meta tag but I can't find any offical position on this from Google. Does anyone have any experience on this?

No idea. But it would make sense if both bots treated meta data in the same way. Otherwise people could do keyword stuffing in the meta data to skew the ads that appear. This would not be something google would want.
