Hi everyone,

I came across this site today discussing how to tweak an IPB forum to make it more search engine friendly.

SOme of the stuff seems good. Though I thought blocking the lofi version was not such a great idea.

Also the htaccess rewrite mod didn't seem to work for me but I was not starting with a blank file so perhaps that was why.

I just wanted to say I tried to use the robots.txt file that they recommend...but in hindsight it seems like a silly idea.

It gives you errors from the Google Adsense Spider saying it won't crawl the pages! That means that it can't display relevant ads! How dumb is that! I know you can probably set it up so it only applies to some spiders and not others but i can't really be bothered so i am going back to blank robot.txt files for now. :)
