This should possibly be in Link-2-Help but I think it will get a better airing here.
I wrote some months back abut the value of links and tried to get a link swap program going, unfortunately no one was interested, which is a shame really because it is a great way to get your site noticed by the various bots going the rounds. This is really a follow up to that post.
Anyway I also mentioned in a recent post that I had put my Christmas Site live and that it was proving very successful. My reason for saying so was simply to encourage you down this road; it is perhaps a bit late this year but next.
For me this has been quite a hectic two weeks. What with turning my anchor site ABC Writers Network into a Forum based site. But back to links
I spent quite a bit of time sorting out the signature that I'd attach to posts going out from the Forum and included at the top my Christmas Site; and boy was it worth it. The weekends are generally a very poor time for me but this week end I almost trebled the amount of visitors who visited the Christmas site and my click through rate increased by 18 percent!!
So again I'm promoting the idea of links. Remember you don't have to physically link to a site: write an article for an article bank and if anyone picks it up you've a oneway link on their site. Post an article here, or on any other Forum and you have a oneway link and that is really valuable stuff. But if you do see a site that complements your own then drop the webmaster a line and suggest exchanging links by all accounts links to similar sites are the best.
I've proven to myself how valuable links can be. If you're really into making money - give it a try.

hi kevin, i like to drop links into a signature too. its a great way to get a few links. active members are welcome to do the same here at adsenseforums.net.
though you may notice that occasionally we got posts that are made for the sole purpose of getting a back link and i tend to delete those quite quickly. we need forum members not forum spammers!
cheers, glen
