Last time around I bought Joel Comm's Instant Adsense Templates (IAT) and they really sucked. I think he came under that much pressure that he had to make refunds :)

Anyway a week or so back he sold edition 2 of IAT and I haven't seen any adverse reports on his site anyone buy and what did you think? Were they worth the money?

Just curious.

Kevin.

I think the biggest thing we can learn from Joel Comm is not how to make money from adssense...rather it is how to advertise and promote yourself. he is very good at that. I think that this adsenseforums site could be doing a lot better if i had the marketing mind of joel comm. :-)

With respect Glen I think that is a little bit of an opt out answer. I agree wholeheartly that Joel Comm is very good at promoting himself - the name Dr. Adsense has stuck, just like the name Rich Jerk has stuck. But I'm inclined to look at it from this point of view: we are all in this adsense business together and boil it down to its very basics and it is advertising and no one makes a living in advertising unless they are prepared to shout from the roof tops MY PRODUCT IS BEST!!!.

There is no doubt also that the like of Joel Comm and the Rich Jerk have made loads of money from adsense and are continuing to do so. Joel Comm now seems to be concentrating his attention in other directions. He seems to be on the speakers circuit, he is busy launching new products, there are ads - with no apparent connection to adsense appearing on his adsense forum.

My own personal belief is that advice from Joel Comm might well have been worth listening to some years back but he is now approaching, I think, becoming a spammer, with all the different offers, recommendations, and own products that he is pushing. That's really why I was asking the question of anyone who has bought into his second launch of Instant Adsense Templates - has he conned people or does his product approach anwhere near his claims

Before concluding I would say that I believe the like of this forum is a great place to learn. Glen seems to know his stuff and is capable of offering good advice (take a bow Glen :) ) and others have shared good advice. BUT and it is a BIG but if people don't write and say that this sucks, that sucks, or that this is a great technique but something else is slightly better then people will leave the forum and it will eventually close.

I'm not connected with Glen or this site in anyway but I am saying use the site or loose it.

I expect Glen will have something to say

hi kevin, it was an opt out answer because i have not used the templates that you mentioned. i was just making conversation really :)

regarding your second point about the use of this forum. i agree completely with what you said. i think this forum has a lot of benefits over the larger forums. the big forums like digitalpoint are totally overwhelming. if you read every post on those forums you would never get any website building done!

i must confess i have not done enough promotion work lately as i have been been busy building new sites. and as i have said previously, this adsenseforums website is not a dollar earner for me. i run it because i am interested in the topic and like to share and talk about my experiences with making money off the net.

however, i am quite encouraged by the high rankings we are getting in the search engines at the moment and i think now is a good time to increase the efforts.

cheers, glen

I don't trust any of Joel's products, other than his book, The AdSense Code, which was great at getting some basic AdSense concepts out for people who are new to the game. Aside from that, everything he had to say was some way to nickle and dime everyone on the web who is interested in what we are, and I dislike that.

Like someone mentioned above, Joel is good at getting information out about promoting your site, but other than that, I wouldn't buy or trust anything he has on the market. It's all prefab slop.

Nice to hear from you tekn0wledg

I don't know if you meant it or not but I see that you have posted the same two paragraphs twice. 'I don't trust Joel, I don't trust Joel' maybe a slip - then again maybe not :)

I was looking at your signatures and tried to access your sites; like the blogs. Do you intend to put adsense on 'Thoughts Right Now?'

You've mentioned http://www.monacoproject.com/ twice in your signature and when I clicked on them all I got was a 'The future home of the Monaco Project' message. If I stumbled across that signature by accident and tried it I wouldn't go back. But I will when it goes live - you'll remember me won't you

Again curious where did the signature tekn0wledg come from?

There are no ads on Thoughts Right Now, it's actually my fiancée's blog. The other sites are my work in progress. tekn0wledg.com and monaco project are being developed as we speak. Right now there are placeholders up there.

Monacoproject.com should be up in the next few days.... I'm not going to mention much details on it yet, but I think the results will be quite nice :)

tekn0wledg.com is just going to be my blog on technology related items. Nothing special.

I'll be sure to send you a message on Monaco when I get it launched. I promise it won't dissapoint :)
