I recently downloaded an e-book the following conditions were attached
Terms:
[YES] Includes Salespage and a individually packaged and numbered zip file with the entire package.
[NO] Can be given away.
[Yes] Can be packaged.
[Yes] Can be offered as a bonus.
[Yes] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it.
[YES] Can be added to paid membership sites
[Yes] Can be offered through auction sites.
[Yes] Can sell Resale Rights
[Yes] Can sell Master Resale Rights
[Yes] Can sell Private Label Rights
Now the publisher seems to be saying YES to everything bar 'Can be given away.' But I don't understand why you can e.g. can edit it, and put your name on it, can sell private rights etc but yet can't give it away.
If I repackage this, put my own design on the cover, can I give it away then

i guess they might not want you to give it away for free because it would mean that the product (i.e. the ebook) would become less valuable.
presumably your rights to resell the personalised version of the book is limited in the same way - i.e. so that your customers must also agree to NOT give the book away for free. its not very clear.
its all a bit strange i agree. is the book any good?

You can't give it away because you may be giving the account away but not the site you applied to AdSense with. You get AdSense based on the quality of your site and if they allowed you to give your account away then their ads would be running on a site they didn't approve. Potentially causing them to lose advertisers, etc.

hi jerlene. I think kevin is talking about giving away a PDF (ebook). not his Adsense account.
but the issue you raised is an important one. Google will manually check the first site that you submit (at least they used to)...but then you can add on other sites that are not automatically checked by a human being. So there are easy ways of getting unchecked sites into the network. At least that is how it used to be. I have not added a new site for a while.
Cheers, Glen
