Hi everyone,

You will notice that if you view this website with the Firefox 1.0.4 Browser, the Google Ads tend to jiggle or flicker up and down.

I have been doing a bit of research on this matter and there has been some discussions of similar problems at the following threads -

http://www.webmaster...orum83/5741.htm
http://www.webmaster...orum83/5847.htm
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread...ghlight=flicker
http://www.marketingloop.com/archives/2005...ect-on-firefox/

However, it seems to me that the proposed solution of using absolute positioning styles is not ideal.

It seams to me it is really a bug in the Firefox browser which will be fixed in version 1.1.

So I am not going to waste too much energy developing workarounds for this problem.

Cheers, Glen

As a follow up to my last email. The following website claim to have an easy fix for google ads displayed on a white background. I have not tried this fix yet but I will soon and let you know if it actually works.

I tried to above fix and it worked!!!! Woo hoo!

For my leaderboard ads I just increased the height from 90 to 96. All fixed! So simple!

Hey glen,

I have been searching for a similar fix. So let me get this right...you increase the height by 6 pixels for a leaderboard and by 5 pixels for a banner?

Cool I will try this and get back to you later on if it works for me....

I have not tried it on banners as yet but it seems like what you said is correct. Use +5 for a banner and +6 for a leaderboard.

Let us know if that works for you.

:) Just to let you know this fix also worked for me.

Thanks...this problem has bugged me for ages and I don't know why someone else didn't come up with such as easy fix sooner! Really Google should have sorted this out ages ago. Hasn't the penetration of firefox risen to 10% or more now?

Good stuff,

Falcon

I have been informed that the latest FF 1.5 beta has resolved the scroll bug! That's great news! Can't wait till it comes out of BETA!
